Calgary living room with Lutron lighting control and motorized shades

Lighting that sets the room in one press

Lutron lighting control and motorized shades for Calgary homes — RadioRA 3 and Caséta, programmed into scenes that match how each room is actually used.

What's involved

Designed around the room, not the switch

Good lighting control isn't really about dimmers — it's about the handful of ways a room gets used and making each one a single press. We work through those with you, lay out the keypads so the buttons make sense to everyone in the house, and program the scenes to match. Motorized shades slot into the same system where they earn their place.

  • Scenes for how rooms are actually used — Entertain, Relax, Movie, Goodnight, Away
  • Keypads that replace a wall of dimmers with a few clearly labelled buttons
  • Lutron RadioRA 3 for whole homes, Caséta for focused rooms and smaller spaces
  • Retrofits into finished homes without opening up walls
  • Motorized shades measured and installed to work alongside the lighting
  • Runs on its own, or as part of a URC Total Control system

Motorized shades come down to fabric and openness as much as hardware. Try the combinations on a real window here — then talk to us and we'll measure, install and integrate them with your lighting.

Lighting & shades — FAQs

Common questions about Lutron lighting control and motorized shades.

A room usually needs four or five different lighting states, and getting there manually means adjusting several dimmers every time. Lighting control turns those states into one button: Entertain brings up the perimeter and dims the island; Movie drops everything but the path to the kitchen; Goodnight shuts the main floor down on the way upstairs.

Caséta suits condos, smaller homes and projects focused on a handful of rooms. RadioRA 3 scales to a whole house with far more devices, keypads and deeper integration. We'll look at your floor plan and recommend the one that fits rather than the larger one by default.

Yes. Lutron's wireless systems were designed for exactly that — the devices replace existing switches and dimmers, so there's no rewiring and no drywall repair in most homes.

Lutron is a strong platform on its own and many homeowners run it that way. It also integrates with URC Total Control, so a Movie activity can set the lights, close the shades and start the theatre together instead of as three separate steps.

Tall or hard-to-reach windows, west-facing rooms that overheat in the afternoon, bedrooms, and theatre rooms that need real darkness. They're worth doing where they solve something — we'll tell you which windows are worth motorizing and which aren't.

It depends on the platform, how many loads and keypads are involved and whether shades are part of the project. We'll review your plan or walk the house, then scope and price it clearly.
