A room that's genuinely good to watch in
Dedicated theatres and media rooms across Calgary — the right display for the space, speakers and subwoofers placed and calibrated properly, and the wiring where you can't see it.
What's involved
From a better media room to a dedicated cinema
The same thinking applies at both ends of the scale: pick the display the room can actually support, place the speakers and subwoofers where the room wants them, hide the wiring, and make the whole thing start with one press. We work with Marantz, Sony, Samsung, Monitor Audio, Episode and other professional equipment, chosen around the room and the budget rather than a fixed package.
- Dedicated theatres and everyday media rooms, designed for the room you have
- TVs and projectors, screens, receivers, speakers and subwoofers selected together
- Dolby Atmos layouts with speaker and subwoofer placement worked out first
- Seating positions, screen size and viewing distance worked out for the actual room
- Sound upgrades for media rooms that already have a screen but poor audio
- Picture and audio calibrated by measurement, then handed to a one-press activity
Home theatre & media rooms — FAQs
Common questions about home theatre and media room design.
No. Dedicated theatres are excellent when you have the space for one, but most of our work is media rooms and living rooms — spaces used for everything, where the AV has to look good with the lights on and still perform at night.
It comes down to room size, how much light you can control and what the room is used for. A large TV is the better answer in a bright, multi-purpose room. A projector and screen win for scale in a room you can darken. We'll tell you which one your room is asking for.
Yes — that's a service in its own right for us rather than something we only do as part of a theatre. Mount selection, concealed power and HDMI, Samsung Frame installs and sorting out the equipment underneath are all covered on our TV mounting page, linked in the menu above.
Often the equipment is fine and the setup isn't. Speaker positions, subwoofer placement, receiver configuration, calibration, cable management and control are all things we can correct without starting over. We'll assess it and tell you where the real gains are.
Through a URC activity, in most cases. One press on the remote should start the movie — display on, correct input, sound routed properly, lights set — rather than three remotes and a guess at which input the receiver is on.
A media-room upgrade and a purpose-built cinema sit at opposite ends of a wide range. Once we've seen the room and know what you want from it, we'll design to your budget and price it clearly.
